Yep, that's right, "Circles of Joy" - previously known as the Christmas Donuts of Love. You know that centuries old story of the donut that saved Christmas, don't you? Ok, just kidding.
Nearly 100 Dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts will be delivered by our members and friends to hospitals, nursing homes, police and fire stations in Lucas, Fairview, Allen, McKinney, and Plano. We hope that this simple act brings some of the Joy of Christ's love to those who serve our community and were working on Christmas Eve. Here's how it works:
This is something we started a few years ago, and yes, its as silly and simple as it sounds. But you may also know that things which seem silly and simple can often also be very profound and meaningful, particularly at Christmas. This, it seems, is a part of the mystery of Christmas. The Apostle Paul even says that Christianity seems like foolishness at times (1 Cor 1:22).
On Christmas Eve, when we are all gathered with family and friends at church, celebrating God's most amazing show of love, the coming of Jesus into the world, many others in our community are at work. Such is the world we live in. They are, many of them, community servants of one sort or another - hospital staffs, police officers, fire fighters. Part of the Christmas story is, as Jesus said years later, that he too came to serve others. So, we take a few moments of our celebration to share it with others in our community.
In the coming year, may you be surprised by the ways God reveals his love in your life, and through you into the lives of those around you as you share the Circle of Joy!
